Shelters and rescue organizations perform miracles each day, saving pets in peril, and providing food and a warm place to sleep for homeless dogs, cats and other domestic animals all across America. The PetStyle Shelter Directory is committed to matching up shelter pets with caring homes and owners.
Over time, PetStyle will add more and more community shelters and rescue organizations, along with an easy way for potential adopters to find and help a pet in need.

HPPL was founded in 1989 by a group of individuals who were concerned about the plight of homeless dogs and cats in the Houston area; specifically, animals that would not usually be put up for adoption by the local animal shelters. These include animals with skin problems such as mange, heartworm positive dogs, and injured or seriously malnourished strays.

We are a small, individual, private rescue group, dedicated to helping unwanted dogs and puppies in danger. Most of the dogs and puppies we rescue are strays and/or surrenders in high kill shelters. Many of them have been pulled from "Death Row". We also rescue dogs and puppies from backyard breeders and puppy mills. Before coming to us, these animals were sick, abandoned, neglected, abused, and/or injured at some point in their lives. Because we do not receive funds from any outside sources, we rely solely on donations to continue our rescue efforts as well as help defer our costly medical expenses.

North Country Animal League (NCAL) is a non-profit, state-of-the-art humane shelter located in Morrisville, VT. It is limited access, which means that the orphaned dogs and cats in NCAL's care are not euthanized to make room for others. Euthanization is only employed for aggression or illness. Animals stay at NCAL until they are found a forever home.

The mission of the League is to provide humane care and treatment for all of the animals needing protection in our community, the Town of Southold. We are the only East End shelter with the commitment and courage to take on the difficult task of providing animal care and control for all the homeless and needy animals within our community while maintaining a no-kill policy. Never is a healthy, adoptable animal killed for the sole crime of being homeless. Spay/neuter and humane education are two of the most important tools utilized in the fulfillment of our mission.
