ADOPTION PROCEDURE If you are interested in adopting a pet, come and meet the animals. Decide which animal may be right for your family, then fill out a pre-adoption application. (All questions must be answered before we will consider you.) A shelter employee will contact you to schedule a home visit. After the home visit and a review of your application, you will be contacted by a shelter employee within 24 hours. If the animal is 5 months of age or older, it will need to be altered before leaving the shelter. A vet appointment will be made. Your next step will be to come in and fill out the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Your new pet will be delivered to the vet on the day of the appointment. Out of state residents will also need a home visit which will be set up as soon as possible.
