Fees: Spayed or Neutered Dog: $130 Spayed or Neutered Cat: $65 Non Spayed or Non Neutered Dog: $105- Plus a $25 Spay/Neuter Deposit Non Spayed or Non Neutered Cat: $40- Plus a $25 Spay/Neuter Deposit Before adoption begins, we ask that you fill out an application for the animal you wish to adopt. Applications can be found at our shelter or online from our website. Once an application has been submitted, our adoption coordinator will review the application. The coordinator will contact you with any questions. She or he will arrange a time for you to meet with them and the animal you have chosen. More than one visit may be required before the adoption is complete. This ensures that the family and animal are comfortable with each other which begins the formation of the human animal bond. Requirements: Only compassionate persons who have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to take care of the animal in question and have successfully completed an interview with a qualified Bellwether Harbor employee may adopt an animal. A person who adopts an animal from the shelter agrees to give the animal proper and humane care, food, water, shelter, exercise and all other necessities. A person who adopts an animal from the shelter agrees to have the animal examined by a licensed veterinarian within thirty (30) days from the adoption date at their own expense. A person who adopts an animal from the shelter agrees to provide veterinary care if the animal becomes ill or injured; and, will maintain all required veterinary inoculations for the prevention and spread of disease. No person with a record of animal cruelty or failure of the interview process with a qualified Bellwether Harbor employee will be allowed to adopted an animal.
