James & Sprite are an indoor house rabbits looking for a loving family to shower them with attention. As a Californians, they are naturally mellow, which could be a very good thing if your family has older children. We never recommend rabbits for families with small children, because small children could easily harm and mishandle the rabbit. One of the other advantages to owning a Californian is the size. Small children 'usually' cannot pick up or handle the larger rabbit breeds, so you don't have to worry as much about little nieces, nephews, or even a visiting neighborhood child. Larger rabbit breeds also make great family pets simply because they are more noticeable. You won't have to worry about tripping over an 8 lb bunny that you can see easily, as oppose to the 4 lb bunny that you may not notice. Moreover, when playtime is over, and it is time to put the rabbit back in the pen/cage, there are far fewer places in your house that a larger (and slower) bunny can hide than the smaller (and quicker)rabbit can. Don't forget 2 rabbits is no more work than one. It's still one cage, one litter box... but twice the love.

NTRS charges a $95 adoption fee for a single rabbit and $150 for a pair which includes a $25.00 gift certificate (for pairs only) that may be used towards either the adoption fee or any of the rabbit supplies and toys that NTRS sells at the sanctuary. This is less expensive than if you spayed/neutered the rabbit on your own.
