Description:
On Feb 26th 2009 I was driving to Post Tx with Fred, a young QH gelding and Cyrus, my big spoiled baby. We were on our way to Fred's new home and the start of his new life. My phone rang, as it has so many times, it was Misty, she had gotten a call about a mare that needed a new home. We are over full at the rescue but I was going to have one less with Fred leaving us, how could I turn her away. We showed up at a ranch in Post that had Long Horns every where and a dozen mares running with them. There was one mare, Baby, that needed us. She had been the barrel horse years ago of the ranchers daughter. As the rancher told us the story of how he traded a rifle for her when she was 6 months old a lump came up in his throat, that was back in 1982. Now Baby is 27 and he cannot bare to see her pass on his ranch. So we opened the trailer door and Baby came to stay with us at our ranch. She is such a sweet girl, she needs some weight as most of them do, but she will be needing a new adoptive home in no time. If you would like to help with Baby's care please see our Sponsor page
