Poco is a 15 year old, 15 hand QH bay mare. She was transferred here from the MSPCA. Poco is easy to trailer (loads/unloads.) She cross ties well, easy to bath and groom. Picks up her feet. Easy to catch and halter when out in the paddock. She loves attention and enjoys the company of her human companions.Her only vice is that she is herd bound, so if she is alone in the barn, she will pace, or fidget/paw while on the cross ties. If there is another horse in the barn with her, she is quiet. She does need some work with ground manners and not being pushy (she will nudge you alot with her head.) Currently out in 24/7 turn out, but has also been stalled so is comfortable with both. Is more of a dominant mare in the herd.Currently up to date on all vaccines, coggins, and deworming. Barefoot and sound. Does have some arthritis in her hocks that is managed with exercise and a daily supplement.Under saddle, she is wonderful. Good to mount. Has beautiful transitions from trot to canter. Very comfortable western gaits. Picked up the trot and canter both directions immediatly when asked. She also neck reins, and will frame up when asked. Also seems to understand leg yeilding. When on the trail, she did listen, but needed encouragement and a firm rider to push her on away from the herd. Once on the trail, she jigged, but did not attempt to take off back towards home, or buck, or rear. Also not spooky or flighty.
