Description:
Cleopatra was one of fourteen hamsters abandoned in the parking lot of the PetSmart store in Abingdon in late September. Luckily Luna’s House volunteers were on the scene, one of whom actually found the filthy 10-gallon tank and tiny cardboard box that contained the hammies. Out in the blazing sun for an unknown amount of time, these little ones needed some TLC, and fast. Luna’s House was able to take Cleopatra, the 6-month-old mama, with her six 1-2 week-old babies, into foster care. Only one week later, Cleo gave birth to five more tiny babies! These little tikes are now four weeks old—grown up enough to be adopted into their forever homes, just as four of the first babies (Mackenzie, Magdalena, Jordan, and Savannah) have been already. Currently Cleo, the albino girl, is residing with her three youngest daughters, Missouri, Niagara, and Susquehanna, all of whom are beautiful “Blueberry” dwarves. Each hammy girl is a pretty medium grey in color, with a darker grey “racing stripe” down her back. Mama and daughters alike simply love to traverse the network of tunnels in their 3-story enclosure, run in their wheels, and can often be found snoozing in their hot pink hamster SUV.We would love to see Cleo adopted out with all three of these little girls, but are also willing to adopt these ladies out in pairs.
