Description:
Please contact Special Needs (sponsor@biglickferretshelter.org) for more information about this pet. The Big Lick Ferret Shelter and Hospice is located in Roanoke, Virginia. We do not ship our ferrets so please DO NOT ASK.We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to helping local ferrets by providing respite to them while they wait for their forever homes. We care for the ferrets in our guardianship by keeping them in private foster homes and do not have a central public shelter so appointments are necessary to see the ferrets. Butters is a Special Needs ferret and we are looking for sponsors for his care. He was found one chilly October '08 morning in a cage on the stoop of the local Animal Control center. His adrenal condition was quite evident and they didn't consider him an 'adoptable' candidate so they turned him over to the shelter. Butters is a very happy bouncy boy, about 4 years old. I would guess he will be a beautiful light silver when his coat finally comes all the way back in. He can be a little aggressive toward other ferrets at times, but most of the time he gets along with them. He is on Lupron implants and a donation in his name at our shelter Veterinarian's Clinic would help cover the fees involved for his continuing care. All ferrets under the care of the Big Lick Ferret Shelter and Hospice are ADV screened upon intake & brought current on rabies and distemper if medical records are not available. We require a home visit of all adoption candidates before an adoption will be granted so you must live within a 30 mile radius of the Roanoke Valley.
