UPDATE: 08-01-08: Hi it's me Spike. Everything remains the same for me. I am continuing to take my medicines and am waiting for someone to adopt me and love me for the rest of my life!! Update 06/26/08: Hi everyone --- My condition hasn't changed - which is a great thing when you have heart issues. I can still do everything all the other pups do except that once a day I take half of one pill and a quarter of another in a treat. If I get too excited I cough a little, but that is the only sign I show of having a bad heart. The vet said that I just need someone special who can make my last years my best time. Can you be that special person? Update 05/04/08: Hello It is me - Spike. I took a new picture and wanted everyone to see how cute I am. Did I mention that we think I am 10 to 11 years old and about 8 pounds. I am a real sweet boy - but I have a heart issue. I take a small amount of heart medication only once a day. It costs about $38 for two months worth. Update 12/28/07: Hi Everyone, It's me, Spike. I have been seeing the vet regularly, but I did not get neutered or have my teeth cleaned. The vet felt that I would not survive the anesthetic. I am on a very low dose of enalapril and lasix for now and have a very normal life. I just cough a little every now and then, not often at all. I like to go for walks and get along with most people although my foster mom doesn't trust me around little children because I can be sassy like most terriers. I'm happiest just sitting beside my person as close as I can. If you have room in your heart for me - please email my foster mom. Original Bio 09/03/07: Hi, my name is Spike. I was found walking the streets in Akron. I have a sore on my eye from all the hair being stuck there. My foster mom said for me to give Darlene at Pet Clipper a special thank you for taking care of me Sunday night on a holiday weekend and not taking a penny for her hard work - and getting all the crud off of my face was very hard work! I am going to the vet tomorrow so we will know more about my age and health then - but I will be up to date on everything, healthy, and neutered before I can be adopted.
