Charlie is in congestive heart failure; he is currently on 3 heart meds. Charlie is also Heartworm POSITIVE and has been for a long while, this also caused his heart condition. Due to the severity of his heart failure, we cannot do normal heart worm treatment. We CAN, treat him with heart-guard to prevent new worms form developing, while waiting for the adult worms to die. Charlie will always have his heart condition, even when the heartworms die. Charlie also had complications due to poor dental health, which also caused heart failure. In addition to these issues, this baby had a large tumor on his back, which had to be removed, due to ongoing rupturing and infection. After all this, Charlie is a happy and very active baby. He loves to eat and follow his foster mom around, everywhere. We were very concerned that Charlie wouldn’t make it through surgery to remove the tumor and dental work. But, we had to take the risk, to ensure a better quality of life for Charlie. We are assuming Charlie will spend his life out in Rescue Foster Care. If you would like to sponsor Charlie’s ongoing health and medication needs, please make a donation today… Charlie's medications cost us $54.00/month......
