WINSTON is a 4 year old, neutered purebred Weimaraner. He is housebroken, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. WINSTONs current family recently had a baby, and they fear his exuberance & curiosity will result in an injury to the baby. WINSTON weighs approximately 95 lbs, has a silver coat and amber eyes. He does not like being crated but is fine being left out all day without being destructive. He does enjoy making himself comfortable on the furniture but will easily get off when asked to. WINSTON is a big energetic dog who is not good with children, so we are recommending an adult-only home. He is good with other dogs but he has had little exposure to cats and other small animals. He has a relatively high prey drive and will chase anything small and furry. He attended puppy kindergarten and one-on-one training sessions. He is very intelligent and often picks up new commands on the first try. He knows sit, stay, down, off, leave it, responds to his name, and is trained to accept a Gentle Leader harness for walks. WINSTON is on medication and behavior modification training to address his fear aggression. He needs someone who is willing to continue his current regimen, to help him be the happy, well-adjusted dog we know he can be. Prior dog handling experience and the ability to be a consistent & confident disciplinarian would be helpful. His medication costs somewhere between $40 & $60 per month, depending on where the prescription is filled. WINSTON enjoys playing outside, especially with his beloved tennis ball. He loves to run and jump, and is very agile. With his intelligence and physical prowess, he would be a great candidate for agility training. He is very food motivated, loves affection and loves being near his people.
