Description:
Elvira is precious sweet girl terrier mix girl (we think boston terrier/lab mix)she is a little shy at first, but comes out of her shell as you get to know her. She is only a year old and is a petite 35lbs.Her story is a sad one, she was left all alone and locked in a house when her cruel family moved away. She was only a baby and just a few months old. She lived in that lonely house for over a week, scared, hungry and thirsty, as they left her with no food or water. Finally a neighbor called animal control, who picked her up and took her to the local shelter. where she waited and waited for a new family to adopt her. That didn't happen, and since she had developed stress-related demodectic mange as a result of her living conditions, her time was up at the shelter. However, one of our volunteers saw her and just couldn't let her die in the shelter, so she took her home; treated her for her mange; gave her wonderful food and lots of love; and she's now a healthy happy girl.As a result of her traumatizing beginning, our Elvira is a little fearful of strangers and new situations, but she does warm up as she gets more comfortable. She gets long with dogs and older children. She doesn't care too much for the kitties though.Elvira is a loving girl that deserves to find a forever home in which she will always be loved and cherished. An easy to fill out application is on the front page of our petfinder for your convenience.http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX1223.html
