**Update 11/9** Trixie is incredibly outgoing and doesn't meet a stranger. She has embraced life and sees everything and everyone as a new adventure. She is about a year old and full of energy. She'd be great in a home with a young couple or a young family. She raised 2 or 3 litters we think and has an amazing natural maternal instinct. She's a medium sized dog and will be a phenomenal family dog for a lucky person out there! She and her daughter Star were both raised in a home with young children when her former owner was arrested for child abuse and Trixie and 8 other dogs were left abandoned in the home for several days. __________________________________________ Trixie is one of four dogs we took in from a wonderful lady doing her best to help dogs that were dumped in her neighborhood. She put up kennels on her property and vetted the dogs she could while trying to find them homes. Unfortunately her neighbor's wife passed away and he became very ill and had to be admitted to a nursing facility. His children decided to sell his home and divide the money and in the process of having it appraised / surveyed they found that her kennels were partially on the neighbor's property. They demanded they be removed immediately, leaving over 30 dogs with no safe place. She managed to get them to give her a week to place the dogs to keep from having to drop them in her local shelter, which is a very high kill shelter. At this time she still has 5 that may wind up going there. Trixie was dumped in front of her home with her puppies. Most of the puppies were placed, but Trixie and her last remaining daughter, Star, never found homes. They are very close and bonded to each other and Trixie is a wonderful, patient mom. We will be evaluating her in the next couple weeks and she is currently on hold until then. We will still accept applications and do the reference checks in the meantime. We do not anticipate any problems with her at all. She's a medium sized girl, possibly a mix of terrier and corgi. Very affectionate. We're working on house breaking now. She will be adopted out up to date with her routine vaccines, spayed and free of any parasites. Her adoption fee is $150.
