Description:
Trixie is on the small size for a medium dog, she weighs about 30-35 pounds and is about 8 years old. Her overall goal in life is to be a circus dog and perform amazing tricks. It is easy to visualize her popping through hoops and climbing ladders. It is certainly the case that she can climb a wooden fence with style, even doing a tightrope number on the top edge of the fence. Alas, her skill is going to waste in the four paws shelter, where she has trouble making pals with the bigger, less dextrous lot. She gets along fine with other dogs, it's just that she really wants a human for a pal who will teach her tricks and reward her for the effort. If you are the sort of dog owner that wants a hobby with your dog, you and Trixie would go a long way. She is a sweet dog with a pretty face and although a little shy at first, she really devotes herself to the people she spends time and bonds with. Her heritage tends to make her a little nippy with young children, so we would reccomend that she goes to a home where she won't be able to herd little ones around. Trixie is interested in chasing cats also. She would be better off in a cat-free zone. If you adopt this dog, you would need an enclosed kennel with a top so that she would not climb out or oiu would have when outside unsupervised. It has been our experience that when she does climb out, she comes right over to where the humans are. However, while you are at work, you would want to make sure the dog is safe.
