UPDATE: 10/15/2009 Here is what Leena's Foster mom has to say about her 'She has really started to come out of her shell in the last few days. We are also nearing the end of day 4 w/ no potty accident! I still have to watch her really close, but since she’s content to be a couch potato, it’s not that hard. She has a funny little personality. She discovered her vocal cords and is not shy now about letting me know if she wants to be free of her cage. She has definitely attached to me and has no real interest in being in her cage anymore. The last few nights she has pitched a fit about staying in her cage at night in the kitchen (not what I really needed during finals week, thanks Leena!), so I’ve been bringing the cage to the bedroom and then she’s better because she can see me. She does remarkably well on leash. Doesn’t really fight it at all and is starting to do really well going where I want her to on leash (as opposed to me letting her sorta go where she wanted to). She even tolerates me putting sweaters on her to go outside. Overall she’s just a happy and compliant sort. And she loves her food! She’ll eat her’s and then check my dog’s bowl for leftovers. At that rate she’ll put on the weight she needs soon. She has also decided that treats are pretty tasty. I don’t know if there is anything too bad to say about her personality. She is still on the shy side, but I think within a few days or a week she would adapt to a new place and attach to a new owner. The only issue I have w/ her is that I need to watch her pretty closely around my dog. I think she doesn’t quite know how to read his signals. He is a crazy man and likes to bounce around her making weird noises, in an attempt to get her to play. She seems to think he’s being aggressive and she’ll growl and lunge at him sometimes. It’s only when he’s being goofy, so I think she’d do well with another calm dog. She gets along w/ all of the other dogs in my building, including my dog when he’s not being a nut.' 10/01/2009 Leena is a beautiful lil purebred silky terrier. She was born Jan 7, 2004. She weighs in at just under 9 pounds. She is a breeder release so she is just now getting to live life as a beloved pet. She is a sweet girl and is currently in a foster home learning how to just be a dog rather then a breeding machine. We have had her spayed and brought up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative on flea and tick prevention and had an extensive dental done to give her back her pearly whites. WHILE WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS, LEENA WILL NOT BE READY TO GO TO HER FOREVER FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WE WANT TO GIVE HER FOSTER MOM A CHANCE TO WORK WITH HER AND GET HER READY TO BE A BELOVED INDOOR PET. LEENA'S ADOPTION FEE IS $175 INSTEAD OF OUR NORMAL $150 DUE TO HER ADDITIONAL MEDICAL EXPENSES WE INCURRED. Please fill out our online application at
