Description:
We work in eastern PA, southern NJ, and parts of MD and DE depending on distance.
Our foster dogs live in the private homes of our volunteers. We do not have a kennel facility where the public can visit our foster dogs. For information about adopting, please go to our main site, www.nbrescue.com, and click on Adoption Process. Our foster dogs are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, and house trained (or working on it) at the time of adoption.
Dolce has a sad story - he was hit by a car on Wednesday, August 13th. His owner was not able to pay for his care, so they relinquished him to Greenbriar Veterinary Referral and Emergency Hospital in Urbana, MD. On August 14th he had 7 hours of surgery to repair his fractured pelvis, remove some bone fragments, be neutered, and remove bone fragments from his other hip and put it back in the socket. He was taken to the home of a Harnessed to Hope volunteer on Sunday, August 18th. The cost for his surgery was $2,000, which is a generous discount (this does not include follow up care). Harnessed to Hope will be doing fundraising to help cover the costs of his care. Dolce will need about 8 to 10 weeks of crate rest as well as follow up care, so he is on medical hold until he is fully recovered. You can follow Dolce's progress on his Dogster page.
