He has traveled a long way from his original home in Arizona to find his perfect forever home! His original owners had to give him up because they had a baby and Sony did not adjust to the change. He will do best in an adult only home where he can feel like the spoiled baby! Sony has a more laid back personality however that doesn't mean he won't play. He has short bursts of energy where he will roll, chase you and play fetch, though he hasn't mastered the bringing back portion of the game yet! Typical of this breed, Sony can be aloof with new people. Once he gets to know you he is a love bug and eager to please. He loves to run and go for walks every bit as much as he does sitting at your feet and being scratched. However he is extremely devoted to those that he considers to be his family, he is especially loving with women. Sony's forever family must be committed to taking him to positive based obedience classes. We have been working on the basics with him, sit, stay, etc., and he is learning fast. Training will also help with the bonding process and teach Sony that he is finally home to stay. In the past Sony's crate was used as a punishment and he feels insecure in it. We are working on building his confidence in crates and teaching him that it is his quiet safe spot. Sony would do best in an adult only, Shiba or primitive breed-savvy home. He will really thrive in a quieter home environment, where he will be the only spoiled dog or another calmer female companion dog. Sony has also proven himself to have a very high prey drive. Due to this a home with cats or other small animals would not be appropriate for him. Please consider giving this sweet boy the love he so deserves by adding him to your family!
