Jack is a young dog between 10 and 12 months old. We had his brother, Bobby, in the rescue back in September when both of them were tied to a tree as little puppies by their owners with no food, water, or shelter in the Texas heat. Jack somehow became free, ran off, and we feared the worse for him. His brother was rescued by a concerned neighbor and their owners didn't even realize their dogs were gone for a good two weeks after Jack freed himself. When his owners were told what happened, they just shrugged it off saying they didn't want the dogs anyway. Their kids begged for them and the newness of the puppies already wore off so they didn't want them anymore. Every once in a while, Jack was spotted running through the woods and fields with some other stray dogs as the months went by. Then, as it turned cold, Jack decided he didn't like the outside and began spending time in the neighborhood playing with the neighborhood children. Finally, we had room in the rescue for this sweetheart, and he willing came to us, let us put a collar and leash on, and jumped in the car like he did it a hundred times before!
He is very laid back and loves to be loved on. He is learning how to be crated until he is fully house trained. He hasn't had an accident in the house or in his kennel. His brother, Bobby, learned very quickly, and Jack seems no different. He just wants to please. He loves to play with the other dogs in the house, and doesn't chase the cats. He is a submissive and sensitive dog, so a household with another submissive dog would be best for him or a house with no other dogs. Find more pictures of Jack in his album here. He is getting vaccinated, heartworm tested, and neutered shortly.
