He’s very energetic and a little anxious – he gets scared of big noises and big crashes so he would be wonderful for a nice quiet family. He’s super cute, super fun, and he’s got lots of hair to brush and pet. He just wants to be around people. And that’s why he is my March Staff Pick of the Litter.” –Sophia Cao, Adoption Center AssociateHi, I'm Dexter, a 15 pound, 3 year old Sheltie. I'm looking for a very specific type of family, so read on to see if you're a good match! For starters, I have been pretty anxious since I was abandoned to a municipal shelter a few weeks ago, and I spent a long time searching for my owner. But now that I've gotten to know my caretakers here at Bideawee, I am more sociable. This means that my new family has got to be patient and give me time to bond, and they will need to ensure that I get plenty of daily exercise to help with my nerves. I also need a family that has experience with dogs that can help me with my housebreaking, although I do go outside and I do use wee-wee pads. I already know some commands, like Sit and Paw. I am sensitive to sudden, loud noises, so I prefer a quiet home. You can pet me anywhere on my body, but I get nervous and might snap when I am restrained - therefore, I should live with teens and adults only. I can't wait to belong in a family again, so if you're reading this, I hope you're 'the one'!
