Description:
Huey is an awesome prick eared shar pei (mix?) that was one of the worst cases that came to us (you can see his full story at www.PeiPeople.com). He was suffering from pemphigus, which is an auto-immune disease, which caused sores and scabs all over his body (his body was attacking his own skin). He is much better now and looks great. He takes some simple (cheap!) medications and will for life (total is around $40 month). Huey loves to play! Rope toys are his favorite. He sleeps each night in a crate at his fosters. He loves other dogs, but prefers the females. He is an attention hog, but will also roll submissive with other dogs when he wants to play. He is very food driven, which makes him easy to train, but should be fed separately from other dogs (he likes to steal!). Huey would prefer a family that is home most of the time or one that has a friend to keep him company. Huey is a great hiking companion. Paperwork from shelter says he is 5, but we think he is more like 2-3 years old based on temperment and play. He is on the small side, but does weigh 48 pounds. We really need to find a home for Huey. He's been in rescue since November getting better and now is his chance!!! email: info@peipeople.com if you are interested in Huey.
