Its pretty obvious from his photos that Harris is a handsome hunk !! He is a gorgeous blonde if ever there was one. Harris has a cute and lovable personality to go along with his handsome honey colored good looks. And despite some of his doggie issues, he will wiggle his way with that ever-wagging tail right into your heart. I have been working with Harris on his insecurities and behavior problems for a short while now and we have made progress. His main problem is isolation anxiety and he tends to get distressed if left alone for too long. Perhaps after years of living off and on in neglectful homes and on the streets, Harris has bonded for the first time with a human. I believe that bond can be transferred and have hopes of finding Harris his own home.
Harris does not particularly like other dogs and he doesn’t particularly dislike them. He’s just not interested in them. As far as cats go — he is VERY interested in them and probably sees them as prey. Due to his feelings about other animals, Harris needs to be the only pet in his adoptive home.
Harris’ behavior improvement program must include daily aerobic exercise. He needs to take 30-40 minute walks or jogs each day and would be an excellent exercise partner. Harris is easy to handle on a leash.
Harris is a handsome big boy at 58 pounds. He is up-to-date on shots, neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea preventatives. Harris is housebroken and at present is in training with a personal trainer. He knows sit, down, go-to-mat, play dead and a few other basic obedience commands. He has a thick and healthy, medium length coat that requires regular brushing. Everywhere he goes the heads turn and look - Harris is a beautiful dog and people comment on that all the time. He is the happiest when greeting his humans and spending time with them. He likes to chew on his rawhide treats and shakes his head around in the cutest way when I give him one. We are looking for an experienced dog owner that has the patience and wherewithal to continue work with Harris on his issues. In return, you will receive a loving companion and a beautiful, laid back and devoted dog that you’ll find hard to resist hugging over and over again each day. Due to his special behavioral needs, Harris will require a home that fits his description to a tee.
Harris has been well taken care for the past year in my home but needs to find a family of his own. Harris is not the dog you take to the dog park, but rather a companion you take for long walks, a buddy to run with surfside, a loyal friend you can cuddle on the couch and watch TV with, and a handsome boy that goes to his own bed at night when you tell him to.
If you are interested in Harris, please contact Deborah at: email@example.com or 832-265-6523. THANK YOU.
