Sophie is a 3-4 yr old darling female Rat Terrier. She's a sweet and loving gal who loves attention. She talks with her front paws and looks like she may have been a tap dancer in another life! She could also possibly talk if that wiggle could be turned into words. She was rescued from the shelter, a very think little girl but she is slowly gaining weight. When she first came we noticed she put a lot of weight on her front paws, but has been x-rayed and appears to have an old injury that she has learned to work around. She slightly limps and it takes her a few seconds to sit down. Her front elbows also bow out when she walks. The vet thinks it may have been hit by car in the past and never had vet attention or was an old injury or perhaps she was born this way. Either way, she loves to go for walks, likes to canter like a horse and doesn't mind running, but wouldn't suggest her for a long distance jogger. She is crate-trained and walks very well on leash. When she looks up at you with those big brown eyes, all your troubles from the day are guranteed to melt away. She likes being the lead actress and would do best in a home with either a laid back dog or as an only dog child. She does bark usually as warning and will bark at people while you are walking her, however, inside she likes good nap like the rest of us.
