Description:
Rusty was an owner surrender at a high kill shelter in southern Louisiana and we rescued him 1 day before he was scheduled to be euthanzied. He is a bit shy and was probably at one time abused. He'll need someone to show him that people can touch you without inflicting pain. He goes in his crate willingly and is very quiet. He loves to play with the other foster dogs and so far hasn't met a dog he didn't get along with. He's good with older kids but hasn't been around cats. He'll be vetted soon and we'll know more. If he's heartworm positive he'll be treated by our group.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All dogs need regular vigorous exercise. They also should be obedience trained and have an owner that knows how to be a true pack leader. We will only consider adopting to people willing to give the proper care and leadership that all dogs need.
