Description:
This is a plea for help if you can Peanut was brought to Halfway after on Sept 18 the owners had gotten into a domestic dispute and THEN PAULIE got the tough end of the deal.. He was taken to the vet and when the bills were going to be out of the owners reach for repair the made the hard choice to put him to sleep. The vet put a soft wrap on his leg so it would be OK for the night for them to take him home to say GOOD BYE Well 3 weeks later they still had not return nor had they gotten a better wrap on the dog. He was walking around for weeks with a broken leg. We got him Sept 30 and Peanut had his surgery on October 5th. The new owner who will not even be taking Peanut until the hardest part of recover is over, came up with 1,500.00 of the surgery. Peanut was taken to VCA All Care in Fountain Valley because we wanted the best for him. You can see from the pictures that that is what we got. The first bill was $3,379.00 and there is weekly after care for the leg and bandages. He will also have to have the pins removed in about 6 weeks, so the bills just keep adding up. If you would like to make a donation towards the after care donations can be made to Halfway Kritters or to one of the vets doing his care. Please email for more information. This surgery took a very larger chunk from the medical fund at the rescue but Peanut is recovering well. He is not the only one in need of major medical we seem to be the dumping ground for purebreds with problems. See Jada and Lucy Neo Mastiffs with cherry eyes Ricky and Lucy Sharpie with skin and eye problems Peanut has had his pins removed and the person has desided to let him go up for adoption there are special issues with him he is still under vet care for bandage changes Call for details
