Description:
Please go to our website at www.pugpros.org Hi, I'm Bert! I am a 6 1/2 year old black neutered male pug. As you can see, I am cute in socks :) I was surrendered for several reasons: one, my owners were displaced out of their home. Secondly, I bit a 3 yr. old child. The most likely reason is that I have been spoiled rotten by my owners and I have never been given any structure. I have been allowed to do pretty much what I wanted all my life and when I bit the young child, it was a human guarding. I will be sent to a program for my behavior. I am very playful for my age, a little mischievous, and a darn good food magnet. I am extremely loving, and happiest when I am warming your lap. I am spirited, I am an alpha dog, and with no structure I don't know many boundaries. I am a bit shy when meeting new dogs, but I warm up quickly. I love when I get my rawhide, and I know commands such as; sit, down and roll-over and show us your belly. I like to be able to roam around, but I will tolerate a kennel for a short time. I love taking walks and running on the beach. I do tend to compete for human attention with other dogs and children. I am current on my shots, I am micro-chipped and I am in very good health. Bert would do best in a home where there is only one mellow canine companion, and children over the age of 12 yrs. Bert will be available for adoption once his medical clears. Please do not rule out a dog that has bitten once, his behavior can be corrected and will be looked at and analyzed very closely by PROS. No visits will be set up or information can be given on a specific pug until an application is submitted and a home visit is done as we match a pug to a family. Please visit the website at www.pugpros.org and fill out an application to submit. Pugs are not outdoor dogs and can not be left outside unsupervised. PROS does not sell dogs, we adopt them out to compatible homes for an adoption fee of $300.00 for pugs over the age of 2 years old. Pugs under the age of two are $400.00 and Special Needs and Seniors over 10 years old are $100.00. We do not place pugs on a first come, first served basis - instead, we try to match up the needs of the pugs with the desires and lifestyle of the adopting family.
