Description:
In an effort to raise awareness of homeless animals in shelters all over the country, we teamed up with some well known animal welfare advocates in California to feature Wema (meaning goodness, kindness and compassion) in a campaign for President-Elect Obama's search for a White House pet. As you might have heard, the Obama family had narrowed their choice of companions to the Portuguese Water Dog, and Wema was one of the few listed on Petfinder available for adoption.
Our goal was to reach out to people across the nation and get them to understand the tragedy of the homeless animal crisis and to hopefully make others realize the importance of adopting a pet already in need of a home, as opposed to purchasing.
Although the Obama Family did not adopt her, we truly believe that our Wema had a positive impact on the homeless animal crisis that inflicts our country. In our hearts, we know that she stood as a symbol to the tragedy that surrounds us... and if her campaign opened just one set of eyes to the cause, it was well worth it. The ultimate goal of getting her to The White House was not obtained; however, we're confident that Wema’s campaign went far in the overall, altruistic good of our message.

Meet Wema - curly haired cutie!
Wema means goodness, kindness and compassion in Swahili. Wema is young and healthy and homeless, like millions of dogs in our nation's shelter system. And like so many Americans today, she is a victim of financial hardship. Her people couldn't afford to keep her anymore. Now she waits with hope in her heart for a new family to love.
Wema is gentle, well-behaved and loves children and other animals. She even enjoys a game of toss the ball with herself!
Wema adores playing in the snow. You can find her dancing, pouncing, and playing her little heart out in the snow piles. Is there anything cuter than a little snow beard when she comes in? I think not.
Wema adores just being a faithful companion. She likes car rides, playing with her toys, or just lounging about. This girl knows she is something special.
This athletic and sweet-natured young lady deserves only the best and she is currently being spayed and vaccinated.
ADOPTION FEE $60
