Description:
Chloe is a sweet little girl that was surrendered after spending the first years of her life having puppies. We were told that she's a Bichon Frise, but we think she's a Poodle mix and her age is estimated at 4-6 years old.Chloe came to us incredibly fearful of people, lacking the typical social skills that people have come to expect from our canine friends. Even though she was obviously very frightened and would shake when approached by people, not once did she ever show a sign that she would bite or snap at us. We've had her in foster care for over a month now and she's made slow but steady progress. Chloe is beginning to trust this new lifestyle of living in a home and sharing space with other little dogs, some kitties and people! Chloe is doing very well with her house training and in general adapting to the luxuries of life as a house dog. She enjoys 'hanging out' with our two small dogs. She will join in with our dogs to watch people (and dogs) walking by on the sidewalk, she's right there at the window to watch us drive up and at the door when we come in. Chloe still maintains her distance from us, but she's definitely interested in what we're doing and the distance lessons with every week that passes. When our dogs bark she will sometimes let out a little howl which is soooo cute! When the dogs are playing, she gets excited and will sometimes bark, but she's not an excessive barker at all.Chloe truly needs a forever person or family that understands where she's come from and will have the patience to let her adjust to her home and people at her own pace. She can startle easily, so a quiet home with people who spend their free time at home with Chloe would be ideal. Any children in the home would have to be older and very respectful of animals. Chloe's coat would do best with a light weekly brushing and a visit to a professional groomer a couple of times a year. A fenced yard is a must until she can learn to trust people enough to learn how to walk with them on a leash.Chloe is already spayed and UTD on her vaccines, so medically she's ready to go to her permanent home. If you think your lifestyle is a good fit for this sweet little girl and you're a patient person that's prepared to continue her rehabilitation, please fill out an application to start the adoption process. Chloe deserves a home where she can live out the rest of her life well-cared for and loved. The requested adoption fee is $150.
