This flashy little gal is Ava. She is absolutely gorgeous now but that wasn't always the case. Ava was rescued from a life at a puppy mill by a good intentioned lady that had almost 100 rescue dogs at her home! This lady has now reached out to other rescues for help after realizing she was in way over her head. Ava had a lot of hair loss due to extreme matting and was quite undersocialized. Her coat has filled back in now and she's getting more beautiful by the day. She is a super sweet girl but is understandably somewhat nervous in new situations. Ava had also either never been on a leash or only had bad experiences with one, as she gets scared when one is put on her. Ava has come a long way since being rescued and has gained lots of confidence but still needs a little time to warm up to new people. She would also prefer an owner that will be home most of the time and is a great little lap dog. Ava will require an owner with a fenced in yard so she'll feel more comfortable going out to potty since the leash is still an issue for her. Until Ava feels comfortable in new surroundings she is very vocal when she's left alone so may not do well in an apt. Once she settles in she seems to do fine when her person isn't around. She also appears to be totally housebroken! Ava weighs about 9 lbs. Ava's adoption fee is $250.
