8-21-09 Little Katie has been on the loose for the last 3 months while we tried everything we could think of to catch her. She hung out in the local industrial park where they fed her but no one could get their hands on her...till now! She is finally safe and sound in rescue. So no more calls at 3 AM saying she has been spotted only to have her take off again. I was really getting worried as the summer starts to shorten that we wouldn't get her before winter and she would freeze to death, or get hit by a car or end up pregnant! Other than being thin, frightened and having fleas she survived miraculously well. Her original owner has been located but has moved from the area and doesn't want her back. She is now ready to begin the search for a committed, understanding owner who will keep her safe. She is understandably shy and will require a securely fenced yard and a home with no small children due to their constant opening of doors as if she ever got loose she would be impossible to catch. She is very sweet and i already got kisses after just a few days here. She has shown no aggression at all, even at the vet when she was terrified. She does seem to be afraid of cats and did live with lots of other dogs before. She is crate trained and will need some help with house training but at just a year old she is the perfect age to learn. Only 11 lbs, she has the wirey Jack Russell hair and the curly pom tail...cute! Has that adorable one ear up and one ear down thing going on. She has now been spayed, heartworm tested, all vaccines, de-wormed, frontlined and micro-chipped. Please e-mail for an application if you can provide the right, furever home for little Kate.
