We have found out that Jasmine and Sophie were born in April of 2005. They are purebred Plott Hounds. We located their previous owners and they do not want them back so these beautiful girls need a new forever home. A note from their current caregiver: They are both very nice and really friendly, happy girls. Sophie is the mellower and smaller of the two. She would be the easiest to housebreak but both are very close to being completely housebroken. They can be adopted together or separate, however, we think that Sophie would be extremely lonely without Jasmine. They also really like to play with each other. They would not be good with cats but can get along with other dogs as long as they are introduced gradually. They will need a fenced yard or a dedicated owner who will walk/run them several times a day. The adoption fee for these dogs is set at $125 each, which includes: $100 placement fee, and a $25 rebate upon successful completion of basic obedience training. While these dogs are hunting dogs, we are looking for homes were they will be members of the family, not just for hunting. They are a short-hair breed so they will need to be inside during colder weather. Adoption Information: Please remember that every animal available for adoption through an A.P.E.-affiliated organization is fully-vetted for its age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested; all cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FELUK/FIV). All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every dog and cat is vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered. We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to lining up an appointment to visit the animal(s) at the animal's home. For more information on our adoption procedures, (such as requiring adopters to travel to central Iowa to pick the animal up when approved to adopt as A.P.E. does not ship animals or meet people half way) or to obtain a pre-adoption questionnaire to become eligible to adopt, please visit our website's Adoption Page.
