Maisy is a sweet 7-8mo old Pitbull puppy looking for a loving home. When she was just 6 weeks old Maisy fell down a flight of stairs shattering her front elbow. Unfortunately her owner at the time did not choose to have her elbow treated. A concerned friend contacted us about Maisy and was worried about her chances in the world with a broken leg and the owner no longer wanted Maisy. In fact, before the owner left town, he told his friend to 'take care of the dog'.. and we dont mean good things from it. So Fur Angels had to rush to rescue this dog from any bad fate falling on her. After several different vets reviewed her case - some thought that Maisy's arm should be removed and others believed it was best for her to keep her arm as long as it is watched closely. As of now, she still has her little arm it's smaller than her other arm, but she still scoots around on it pretty well. The vet felt that it's stable enough and she can use it, so removing it would be an undue burden. Maisy is wonderful around people and she loves children as well (in her foster home, there was a 3yr old neighbor girl that played with Maisy). Maisy likes to play with other dogs also and plays rough and tumble like puppies do. Maisy has a lot of energy and sometimes Maisy needed to take a time out because she had a lot more energy than her foster sisters. Maisy came with some food bowl aggression but the foster home worked with her and she is making great strides. She now lets her humans pet her while she is eating and even worked up to the point where they could take the bowl from her in trade for a treat. However, it is still best for Maisy to be fed separately from other dogs. This may be due to her mistreatment from previous owner, and left injured so she was taken advantage of by other dogs. Maisy will make a great pet in a home who has dog experience, she will need a lot of stimulation and exercise to be happy. A playmate would be wonderful for her! She's been spayed, up to date on her vaccation and is just waiting for her forever home! Her adoption fee is $300.
