Description:
Chance was taken to a shelter by animal control due to abuse and neglect. We were told the dog took daily beatings both by adults and children. It appears that Chance was also kept in a small outside kennel and not let out. The shelter staff became very protective of Chance and wanted to ensure that he would never end back up in this kind of situation. We can guarantee Chance that he will never have to suffer this kind of lifestyle again! Even all through this ordeal Chance has held no grudges and is a true loving gem of the bully breed.
Chance is now settling right into his new foster home and making sure to stick very close by his foster family. He seems to think he might just be one of their shadows. Chance can still be very shy around new people as his previous interactions with people was not that wonderful, but we can tell he desperately wants to cuddle up with someone for lots of love. He is very curious about new surroundings and seems to peer through his big brown eyes begging for a belly rub or scratches behind his ear's. Chance is currently fostered with Sasha and other dogs which he does wonderful with! He seems to be more at ease with the other dogs around and loves to play for hours. Chance will make a great buddy for some little hot tamale bully girl. Chance is crate trained and does not mind curling up in a warm ball of thick blankets when left alone. He is still relatively skinny from his previous neglect and never hesitates to snuggle up for a little TLC and security. Chance is not a jumper or overly rambunctious, which makes him a wonderful addition to a family with small children. He does like to play with toys but only if his foster family is near by to take part in the activities- tug of war is one of his favorites. Chance does like to voice his opinion and talks to his foster parents frequently for general conversation or just an occasional disagreement. He does listens to correction quickly and follows leadership well.
Chance seems to be extremely intelligent dog and picks up new training quickly. He has picked up sit and down almost over night, along with 'go to bed' and other basic commands. Chance is willing to learn and complete any task asked of him and will make some family very happy - Chance is a pleaser! It's as if he is always thinking about what he can do to make you love him more. He loves to hang out and do whatever it is that you want to do. If you want to walk, so does he; if you want to watch t.v., he's right there with you. We can completely see him on a family picnic, hiking, or rollerblading. Right now he is very interested in discovering the world, so he will take any opportunity he can to get a taste of it. Chance's has so many wonderful qualities to offer some very lucky family. His tremendous willingness to please, his charm, the desire to discover new things, and just how handsome he is makes him a 'one of a kind'.
