Hi, my name is Beau. I'm a young lab/pit mix and I am looking for a home to call my own. Its been an adventurous few months but I love a good adventure!
A few months ago, the place I was staying burned down and the nice lady there couldn't keep me anymore. So another nice lady and her kids said I could stay with them for awhile.
I like this place. There is a nice yard with a fence (so I can't get lost again) and I can run and run and run there. I like to run with my fur-sister, when she's in the mood. When she's not (she's not a kid anymore) I just sit and bark at her until she either gives in and plays, or she barks back and I go find something else to do. My fur-brother plays with me sometimes too, but he's usually too busy sniffing stuff out.
When I don't feel like running, I like to find a toy to chew on (only my toys...I have good manners and never ever chew my foster mom or kids stuff). Sometimes, if I can't find a toy to chew on, I'll find a stick. But then my foster mom will come and take it and play fetch with me. I LOVE that game!
There is also a kitten here. She's a strange little creature. She keeps trying to attack my tail. I know she's just a baby and doesn't know any better. I usually just move my tail, but sometimes she melts my heart and then I let her curl up and nap with me. Silly kitten. Don't tell anyone, (because its will ruin my reputation...) but I kinda like her. She's cute.
I came to this home knowing a few tricks, but I have learned a few more since I have been here. I learned that I need to be patient for my food, so I sit and stay and wait until mom says its ok to eat. I can sit, lie down, and speak even!
There are only two things my mom says I have to learn yet, and we've been practicing! I guess I'm not supposed to pull so hard when we go for walks, so mom says she's getting me a harness to teach me to walk nicer. The other thing is, when new people come to visit me, I get SO excited! I just want to give them kisses and hugs like crazy! I guess I'm not a puppy anymore, so some people would rather wait until I am sitting down to give me attention. I get lots of practice at this too!
I heard my mom telling someone the other day that I am the best foster dog she has ever had. I make sure she knows I appreciate her by laying my head on her lap when we are relaxing and cuddling up to her as often as possible.
This place is fun, but I keep thinking. Mom has a couple of doggies here to keep her company. I bet there's someone out there that doesn't have as many fur-friends and needs me. I can be a great companion. Maybe we could meet and you could see what a good boy I am! Hope to hear from you soon!
