IN LOVING MEMORY:
Sugar was found a stray in Hartford, CT, and rescued by a good samaritan. She was a sweet girl who most liked to lay on her back in my lap and get tummy rubs! She was a very small girl, around 30 lbs., and she pranced when she walk!ed In the three weeks that I fostered her, I saw her advance SO much with other dogs, going from an initially timid and defensive dog to a loving, cuddling pup.
Due to some overzealous 'rescuers', I had another 'rescue' in Detroit agree to foster Sugar. Within two days of her arrival, this 'rescue' killed Sugar at the vet's office, saying she was 'broken' and 'too expensive' to care for, when in reality, she was seen by my expert vet a week before and was deemed to be in excellent health. They also said the foster home had young children and they didn't want the children to see Sugar get older and die, lest it traumatize the children. Now that's a caring parent.
Sugar, you taught me so much. You did not die in vain. Please know that I care for you, and that I love you.
