Description:
4-16-10 Ralphie was finally feeling well enough to get his vet work done and has now been neutered, had his dental, heartworm tested, had all vaccines and been micro-chipped! 3-31-10 Ralphie is a puppymill rescue and will need a home that understands that he will require more patience than the average dog. He is young at just about 18 months so should recover fairly well with time and make a wonderful companion. His many health issues are being addressed which include coccidia, giardia, worms, ear infection, skin issues, severe dental disease and a filthy, matted coat from the horrible living conditions he was kept in. It took 4 baths and shaving to get most of the stench off. He will be completely vetted and neutered before going to his new home. He is shy but is already coming around and enjoys feeling the grass under his feet and the sun on his back for the first time in his life! He is AKC registered and a quick search shows that the mill he came from was actually worse than the mill he was rescued from! We will post more as his personality emerges and he will require a fenced yard and a home with mill dog experience would be a plus! Living proof that you should never shop...adopt! Thousands more just like Ralphie will live in cages just 6' bigger than they are for their entire miserable lives, with no medical care, no human contact, no access to fresh air and sunshine, filthy conditions, overcrowded, fighting with cagemates, teeth allowed to rot out of their heads, all to produce the cute puppies sold in petstores, on the internet and your local paper. And they will die in those same cages, never to know the love and kindness of a home with a caring family. Ralphie was lucky...the over 100 dogs left at the mill that he came from...aren't so lucky....
