Arrived 03/12/2009 from the puppymill and has not yet been Vetted. They must eat good food for 3 weeks before my vet will spay/neuter them. This also give them time to adjust to life outside a puppymill cage. She is a very small girl, is very emaciated. But is chunking up fast as she LOVES to eat.
If you, or someone you know, has purchased a puppy in a pet store recently, it could well have been one of my puppies. I lived in a 2'x2' box in a puppymill producing puppies every 6-8 months. Ex-mill dogs are a shy of new people until they get to know them and trust them. They can not ever be walked using a collar , they must have a harness. They can slip a collar way to easy if they get scared. They can startle easy at noises and panic. If they get loose in the big outside , you will not catch them. They will not come to people , they will run like the wind. They do not know about cars and will either starve to death or be hit by a car and killed before they are caught. ** So far In 2009 we have had 20 mill dogs come here. Six of those have been adopted. One is a sanctuary sweetheart , 13 await new homes. In 2008 we had 128 mill dogs come here: 92 have gone to new homes and 20 await their new homes, 13 have passed on from neglect or old age, 3 are Sanctuary Sweethearts.. In order to continue this work we need your support. Feeding large numbers of dogs is expensive. Please help us save more by donating to the cause or adopting one in need. Be my Buddy
ADOPTION FEES: Puppies $350.00 Adults $200.00 I would like you to know that the fee amount doesn't even come close to covering our kid's puppy doctor bills , let alone any dog food.
Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please click here.
