Foster mom Sonja writes about Melody: Melody is a wonderful and cute, little (12 lbs) 2 -year old Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher Mix girl. Melody was a wonderful addition to my home, she slept in the dog bed right next to our bed, loved to play with my two Beagle Mix doggies and was quiet in our house. She did very well with the crate training and walked right in when being told. Melody is just such a sweet, waggy tailed doggie, I cannot imagine why someone would have given her up. Melody has only one flaw: She has very little body hair. The vet tested her for many skin conditions and she was given a clean bill of health. On a recent trip to Germany I was finally able to name the problem (thanks to the pile of dog magazines I acquired at the airport): She has a hereditary alopecia which is seen in MinPins, Dobermans and other breeds with color variations. These dogs are healthy, but have a beauty 'flaw'. To me, Melody is perfect in every way and I hope that someone will love her as much as I do. She returns the love tenfold! And, she has the cutest piggy, wiggly tail that always moves happily when she sees you. Melody does not shed either which is nice if you already own two mega shedders :o) I want Melody to be happy and go to a wonderful home, maybe it could be you? Melody´s adoption fee will be $350.
