Arrival story: Sydney came from an overcrowded shelter.
Approximate age / weight: 4 years old and 88 pounds
Personality: Sydney has the typical happy personality of a Labrador Retriever. We believe her to be an English Labrador... a slightly shorter leg version of the Lab. She's friendly and happy and has good house manners. She enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to be with people. Despite arriving at Waggin' Tails with kennel cough, an ear infection and heartworm positive, she has adjusted quite well. Sydney begins her heartworm treatment on February 15th and will be ready for adoption in a few short weeks. She will need to be spayed, as well. Sydney is fully house-trained, crate-trained and knows some basic commands. She's smart and sweet and her antics in the snow will make you laugh. She enjoys retrieving and carrying toys in her mouth but she's a lady and doesn't slobber! You may have noticed this girl is packing a few extra pounds under her shiny, black coat. She will need a family committed to keeping her on a healthy diet and ensure she gets exercise to get her weight into a healthy range.
Forever home: This easy-going girl would fit into many situations. She's just an all around good dog waiting for a family to love her.

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to email@example.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
