Henry came to us from a kill shelter in West Virginia. He was very scared in the shelter and appeared not to like men. He was out of time so we decided to take him and work with him. When we first got him he did seem afraid and was very defensive. He would growl and not let anyone get close to him. He has settled down and is doing much better. I can now see that he wants to be loved and playful but he still just isn't sure about everything. I don't think anyone spent much time with him and when they did it wasn't a positive experience for him.
Henry is not ready for adoption yet. I am going to spend more time with him and make sure that he understands that people are good and that he can trust without getting hurt. We will post updates on him.
