Cooper was pulled from a kill shelter shortly before his time was up on death row. He was about 10 weeks old at the time. Unfortunately for Cooper, many people have decided to start breeding labs due to the popularity of the Marley and Me movie. And even more unfortunate for Cooper, black dogs are always the last to be rescued from shelters and the first to be put to sleep. Since Cooper was born the 'wrong color' his life was in jeopardy at a very young age when he couldn't be sold by the breeder, and was just dumped in a shelter to die. He's since been neutered and has all of his vaccinations up to date for the next year. He's completely housebroken. He is wonderful with children and all other pets. Now that he's getting a bit older he's learned that cats are not toys and ignores them. Cooper likes to play! His best friend is our pit bull and they play daily for hours at a time. He would do best in a home with a young pre-teen that can spend hours with him or with another dog his size that he can play with to keep him entertained. We're estimating Cooper's date of birth to be somewhere around early November, 2008. At full grown size we expect him to be in the 45 to 50 pound range. He is very alert and would make a wonderful companion for a little boy and a great watch dog for any family. Coopers adoption fee is $150.
