She'll make you look like you can train dogs!
Gidget is one of eight puppies that were pulled with their mom just before they were to be gassed at a high kill shelter in North Carolina when they were about three weeks old. They were immediately taken to a vet (where they spent about a week) and then were in rescue boarding for a few weeks in North Carolina before they made it up to us in NY.
These puppies—who seem to be a combination of many breeds—are some of the smartest, most agile, and friendliest puppies we’ve seen in a bit. A number of them can scale the exercise pens that were supposed to contain them (Madonna and Bette Davis are the fastest), and they move like little streaks. (Ever tried chasing 8 puppies at once?) They also have climbed into the food bins (for which they are forgiven, as they arrived in NY way too skinny!) and actually had their heads deep into the food bags, and only four little puppy-butts sticking out. Their great charm, airs of contentment, and cuteness make it hard not to laugh.
Each of these puppies has a distinct personality, though.
