Hello there. My name is Buddy and who doesn’t want a Buddy to call their own? Or at least that’s what I used to think, but have been here so long that I’m beginning to wonder if someone will ever want me. I'm a 12 year old lab mix, a very smart boy and have been through obedience training. I used to have a family back in the day. A good samaritan picked me up at a convenience store here in Charlotte. It seems my previous owner dumped me there. I kept going up to every car looking for them but they never came back for me. Oh well, their loss and your gain! I absolutely love to play with my kong toys and would love a place where I can go on walks and chase a tennis ball. I’m no spring chicken, but would love the time and attention. I keep seeing all these young pups come and go and patiently await for a family to realize what a “wise” dog such as myself can offer. I’d love to just be in the presence of a family I could call my own. Not sure how I’d do with toddlers, but older kids are fine by me. If you have another dog, I tend to prefer a female companion – can you blame me? Please come see me at the shelter. I’ll be waiting for you.
