Diamond was brought to the shelter by her previous owners because they were moving and could not take her with them. She is a VERY energetic dog who hasn''t had much of any training. Staff has been working hard on teaching her to calm herself down, but she still gets excited very quickly and will jump up on you and get very nippy and mouthy. Her hyperactivity may translate into destroying things around the house if she doesn''t get enough outlets for her energy. Because of this behavior, she is going to be quite a challenge in a home, so she will need to go to an experienced owner (no first-timers, please) who doesn''t mind a very hyperactive dog, and who has a lot of time and energy to devote to channeling her enthusiasm in a positive direction. She will need an owner who doesn''t spend long hours away from home, who doesn''t have small children who might be hurt by her roughhousing, and who is willing to spend a lot of time running and playing with her and teaching her good manners.
