Description:
11/1 8:30 PM Victor is here. What a nice old dog! He really wants to play - certainly young at heart. Did fine when the pack descended on him to check him out - good boy. He is a lovely yellow color - definitely takes after the Lab of his parents. Has been in the one family since he was 8 weeks old; he will have some adjustments to make. Victor has epilepsy so takes medicine twice a day. He is a little shy of his ears, though he did let me gently look. He is also shy of nail clipping - got quicked once :(. Very nice 11 y/o 100# give or take senior looking for his new forever home. Intake 11/1 Silverwalk has agreed to take in this senior Lab. I do have some pictures somewhere in my e-mails but alas! cannot find. Victor is the beloved senior dog of Dawn who must move where Victor cannot go. She has diligently sought a rescue or home for him, contacting Carl Nylund in Kansas City, MO and Judy Haushahn of 7 Bells Animal Sanctuary in Cole Camp, MO among others and thus Silverwalk Hounds. Victor is a senior yellow Lab/Chessie mix who does not like water! Go figure. He has not lived w/dogs before, so it will be interesting to see him in the pack. He will be arriving w/a very tired Dawn late this evening. Will take him to my vet for a wellness check and evaluate his manners, which I am told are impeccable. Pictures coming soon - please check back! All Silverwalk dogs are up to date on shots including rabies and bordetella, HW negative and on preventative (unless otherwise noted), on monthly flea/tick preventative, live in the house in a pack with 24/7 access to a dog door to the yards and field. All are working on or have been house trained along with some basic obedience. Silverwalk is lucky to have the expertise of dog trainer Marilyn Olson Neville and animal behaviorist Tara Lang available when needed.
