Description:
Dahlia is a lovely, stout, and happy three year old girl. She was surrendered to our shelter in March 2010 because her family didn’t have time to train her. Dahlia is very people oriented and loves to be near you. She often rolls on her back and scoots as close as possible to remind you she’d like a belly rub. Dahlia has been an indoor dog with outdoor privileges and she is housetrained. Dahlia is not only cuddly, she’s also active! She loves to play and will need a home that can keep up with her busy body. Dahlia has not received a lot of training and will need an owner that is savvy and knows how to use positive reinforcement. She’s a bit of a daydreamer and sometimes forgets that it’s time to listen and learn. She just needs someone that is patient and knowledgeable. Dahlia hasn’t lived with kids before and because of her size and energy level, we think a home with kids ages eight and up would be best until she receives further training. Dahlia also hasn’t lived with cats and when she met our office cat, she was very interested in chasing him, so she shouldn’t live with any in her new home. At the shelter, Dahlia has been introduced to a few different dogs. She was a bit pushy at first, but became very good friends with them in no time! Right now, Dahlia is living with another dog that she gets along very well with. She does need to live with a tolerant dog because of her pushy puppy behaviors, but the moment she finds that dog she is as happy as can be. Dahlia is a wonderful girl with a great personality. She’s just looking for an active home with lots of time and love to shower her with.
