She came into our rescue and spent the first few weeks in her foster home hiding out. Fast forward several months (after having whelped a litter of pups and they have gone off to their homes) and she sees her foster mom and runs to jump and greet her. It took at least 3 weeks before GingerBread truly felt comfortable approaching her foster home. Until then, it was us pursuing her. But once you've won her trust, there's no turning back. GingerBread is the ideal dog for a quiet, experienced, dog home who doesn't mind that she's shy initially and is willing to give her the opportunity to acclimate. Anyone hoping for a spectacular response immediately will be disappointed. But it's what is to come that will blow you away. She is very loving, very responsive, very personable once she knows you and trusts you. GingerBread gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is fine with the cats in her foster home as well. Due to her overwhelming shyness she is not an option for small kids. Preferably no kids in the house is best but older teenagers with extensive dog experience will be considered. Adoption Fee for all adult dogs is $300. Puppies are $350. Seniors over the age of 10 years old are $150. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, dewormed and have Frontline on for fleas and ticks. All dogs are also microchipped.
