Cocoa is a beautiful red tri colored hound mix. Cocoa is about 3 years old. Cocoa is a little bit scared of things at first and she will need a little bit of patience learning how to live in a new home. Once she is familiar - she will make you very happy. She wants to please and is really smart. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines and on heartworm prevention. She is crate trained and has good house manners. She needs to lose a few pounds (heck, who doesn't?) and she is currently on a diet. She is such a wonderful dog and really just needs a chance to shine. Cocoa is good with cats that don't react to dogs and some other dogs. Older children over 12 yrs only. Safe Dogs By The River does not adopt dogs to outdoor only homes, nor do we endorse this practice. We believe a dog is a family member and should live indoors with they're humans. Indoor dogs make better watch dogs, are better able to alert to intruders and are capable of actually doing something heroic in the face of an emergency. All companions from Safe Dogs By The River have an adoption fee. If we did not have these fees, we would not be able to help the next animal that comes along.
