Description:
Sara was found in a ditch by a wonderful good samaritan. She had a litter of 6 puppies! The puppies are all gone now and Sara is ready for her new forever home. She is heartworm positive, but she comes with an entire protocol and all the medicine needed to help her become heartworm negative. It doesn't seem to stop her at all and she will be just fine. Her shots are up to date, she is spayed and she is in good health. She is starting obedience classes in August and her new family is more than welcome to join in and watch or participate in her classes. We encourage it!We think Sara is some kind of Hound mix, common to the area. She is super sweet and affectionate. She is so well behaved! Sara really needs a second chance. Sara's personality saved her from certain death, as most HW positive dogs in rescue are put down. She is an amazing dog that has had such a rough start. Won't you consider her for your next family companion. In the photos, she is pictured with one of her pups, Meadow, for a play date. Meadow was adopted into a great home and now it's Sara's turn. Safe Dogs By The River does not adopt dogs to outdoor only homes, nor do we endorse this practice. We believe a dog is a family member and should live indoors with they're humans. Indoor dogs make better watch dogs, are better able to alert to intruders and are capable of actually doing something heroic in the face of an emergency. All companions from Safe Dogs By The River have an adoption fee. If we did not have these fees, we would not be able to help the next animal that comes along. Please help us to continue helping the animals we have in our care.
