Description:
A good-looking Catahoula Hound mix, 5-year-old Charlie came to HART when his elderly owner could no longer keep up with his bursts of energy. The breed is known for being intelligent with outstanding tracking and hunting abilities, so perhaps it’s no surprise that Charlie tries to take off running during walks if a squirrel or rabbit is seen. He also may drop low to the ground and lay very still with ears and eyes in “alert” mode when an overactive dog or child approaches. Nonetheless, Charlie is well-behaved and friendly when asked to sit quietly or meet people and other dogs his size. He would do great with an active lifestyle (walks, jogs, hikes) or canine pals. No cats or other small pets, please.
