Registered Name: --Dance Diva-- Call Name: --Diva-- Color: --black, white chest-- Whelp Date: --January 10, 2005-- Dance Diva was not fast enough to be a good racer. Her race record (6 races) also shows that she kept getting bumped. Diva soon decided this racing thing was way too rough for her and promptly retired. She is a happy, friendly dog who should do well in just about any environment. Diva has shown too much interest in chasing small things to be good with cats or small dogs, but does fine with larger dogs. Diva was chosen for the Second Chance at Life Greyhound Prison Program (SCAL). She just graduated from the 10-week training program at the Coldwater facility in Michigan where the inmate handlers taught her how to adjust from track life to home life. Her trainers report that she especially loved to play in the snow. She will roll in it and even eat it! They also report that Diva is playful, loves toys, loves to play with the other greyhounds, and is a happy dog who loves everyone. Diva knows how to go up and down stairs, is house trained, and is proficient in the following commands: heel, sit, down, stay, come on recall. Diva will walk quietly by your side while on a leash, and is the holder of an SCAL obedience title (similar to a CGC). We really feel that when you adopt an SCAL graduate, you will be adopting the Best of the Best in retired racers. For more information on this unique and successful program, please click on our website under 'Second Chance at Life'. Diva's $350 adoption fee includes her SCAL training, transportation to and from the training facility in Michigan, spay, teeth cleaning, all vaccines, microchip, special SCAL collar, leash, SCAL jacket, journal prepared by her inmate handlers, training DVD, and her own travel bag with toys and grooming kit. The SCAL trained greyhounds are very much in demand, so if you are interested in meeting or reserving Diva for your very own, please contact us right away at 813/272-2332.
